William E. "Bill" Masterson, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, to Gilbert D. and Lula M. Clementz Masterson.
Bill worked at Union Electric 42 years. An avid outdoorsman, he had been president of Ducks Unlimited of the Cape Girardeau Area. He had served as a member of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Missouri State University Booster Club, Horseshoe Pitchers Association, Southeast Hospital Association and SEMO District Fair Association Board of Directors.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities, and of the American Legion.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, the former Bonnie L. Meissner of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Diane Eoff and husband Patrick of Denton, Texas; a granddaughter, Kelly Richardson and husband Bryan of Austin, Texas; and two great-granddaughters, Laine and Claire Richardson.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Sullenger officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the charity of one's choice.
