ANNA, Ill. — Bill Jurden Sr., 76, of Anna died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at City Care Center in Anna.
He was born July 25, 1932, in Sheffield, Ala., son of Harvey and Alice Rhodes Jurden. He and Iris Ethridge were married Sept. 26, 1953.
Jurden was a Korean War veteran of the National Guard and the U.S. Army. He was retired from Choate Mental Health Center and worked at the Union County Fair for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Bill Jurden Jr. of Anna; two daughters, Debbie Clover of Alto Pass, Ill., Donna Henderson of Anna; two brothers, Jerry Marshall of Arnold, Mo., Donald Hicks of Millstadt, Ill.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Doug Bridgeman will officiate, with burial at the Casper Cemetery with military honors at the grave by the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW in Anna.
