SIKESTON -- William G. "Bill" Jones, 73, of St. Louis, died Sunday, April 16, 1995, at his home.
He was born April 11, 1922, at Steele, son of Carless and Anna Mae Clayton Jones. He and Ruby Pauline Cantrell were married Jan. 11, 1945, in St. Louis.
Jones was a self-employed carpenter. Formerly of Crowder, he had lived in St. Louis 20 years.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert Jones of Sikeston, Billy and Jimmy Jones of St. Louis; five daughters, Virginia Stanley of Southaven, Miss., Irene Stovall of Millington, Tenn., Patricia Lingle of Byhalia, Miss., Karen Hutchcraft of Benton, Ill., Dorothy Eubank of Edmond, Okla.; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with the Rev. Cecil Adams officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
