SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bill L. Chaney, 80, of Chesterfield, Mo., died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at Delmar Garden on the Green in Chesterfield.
He was born July 18, 1919, in Matthews, Mo., son of John Rufus and Emma Sanders Chaney. He and Marie Seagraves were married June 27, 1942, in New Madrid, Mo. She died Nov. 15, 1991.
Chaney was a foreman 40 years with Himmelberger-Harrison Manufacturing Co. in Morehouse, Mo. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church at Morehouse.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Lewis of Ellisville, Mo.; a brother, Harry Chaney of Matthews; three sisters, Lillie Kem of Bloomfield, Mo., Helen McLaurin of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Lala Duke of Dogwood, Mo.; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Hook officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
