PADUCAH, Ky. -- Bill Brugger, 74, of Paducah, and a native of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Baptist Health in Paducah.
Bill was of the Catholic faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army, National Guard and Reserves. He was self-employed and owned the B and B Contractor Co., where he worked with mechanical contractors until 1994. Bill was former president of Lone Oak Lions Club and served as president during the first steam and gas engine show in 1978. Bill had a passion for camping and working on old tractors and was manager for four years of the Canal Campground in Grand Rivers, Ky.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Donna McDowell Brugger; a daughter, Julie Brugger and her husband Andre McDaniel of St. Louis; a son, Jeff Brugger and his wife Samantha of Grand Rivers; two sisters, Judy Horrell and her husband Pat and June Brown and her husband Charles, both of Jackson; a grandson, Martin Boyd Brugger; two step-grandchildren, C.J. Henning and Taylor Henning; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding his in death were his parents, Martin Leo Brugger and Edna Sanders Brugger, and a brother, Jerry Brugger.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Puckett officiating.
