BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Bill J. Bennett, 71, of Bloomfield died at the Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Mo., March 18, 2001.
Bennett was born in Sikeston, Mo., Feb. 18, 1930.
He was a retired truck driver and had worked as a maintenance man for the Bloomfield School District for several years.
Bennett served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
On Aug. 31, 1979, he married Patricia Rose.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Connie Bennett of Marble Hill, Mo.; a stepson, Lee McCormick of Atlanta, Ga.; and two sisters, Mary Stevens of Bloomfield and Jean Whitfield of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Dunivin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
