Beverly Ann Lewis, 78, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born March 13, 1940, in Cape Girardeau to Thomas Norval and Martha Kurre Carr. She and Jerry Lewis were married June 2, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Beverly was a life-time resident of Cape Girardeau, attending Trinity Lutheran Grade School and graduating from Cape Girardeau Central High School.
She worked many years for the former Farmers and Merchants Bank, then for Boatman's Bank before retiring from Clark Appliance as a bookkeeper.
She was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She worked with the Ladies Aid, the Lutheran Student Center on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University and also enjoyed her time with the church sewing group. Beverly was also a volunteer at the Lutheran Home, helping out where she could.
Loving survivors include her husband of almost 61 years, Jerry Lewis; a son, Guy Lewis, and his girlfriend, Benita Curtis; a daughter, Anna (David Sr.) Dienstbach, both of Cape Girardeau; a brother Kenneth (Verla) Carr of Jackson; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Teresa Maevers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Egypt Mills.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
