Beverly Jung, 81, of Cape Girardeau shed her earthly bonds Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Villas of Jackson.

She was born July 31, 1939, in New Albany, Mississippi, to George and Ophelia Harrelson.

Beverly retired from office management after 28 years of service. The matriarch to the Jung family oversaw several businesses throughout the years. Beverly was a member of Cape Bible Chapel for the last 40 years and was active in her youth.

Beverly was the foundation of the Jung family. She was the glue that held the children together and led in a common direction. Beverly always lent her ear to listen and was quick with a sensible solution.

She was a frequent international traveler and loved exploring new cultures.

Beverly is survived by her three children, Janet (Conrad) Williams, Christopher H. (Melany) Jung Jr. and Dr. Daniel Jung. Beverly also left grandchildren, Crystal Edwards, Jordan Williams, Lara (Kevin) Stanley, Levi and Logan Jung, and Vladimir Maximus Jung; and great-grandchildren Layla and Nova Stanley. Beverly's surviving siblings include Buddy Harrelson, Christie Taylor, Jane Barnabo and Marty Harrelson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today in the mausoleum at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Entombment in the mausoleum will follow.

A reception will follow at the Jackson Civic Center, 381 E. Deerwood Drive.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
