Beverly A. Gerecke Ervin, 68, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Southeast Hospital after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
She was born March 8, 1951, in Cape Girardeau to William J. and Elizabeth Louise Metje Gerecke. She and Wilton L. Ervin were united in marriage July 15, 1972, in Cape Girardeau.
Bev attended school in Sikeston, Missouri, and Cape Girardeau, graduating from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1969.
After graduation, she worked as a bookkeeper until she became a stay-at-home mom. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 3775, and she loved to golf and spoil her grandchildren.
Bev is survived by her husband, Wilton L. Ervin of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Jessica Allred of East Prairie, Missouri, Meagan (Lyle) Riggs of Jackson and Abigail Ervin of Cape Girardeau; father, William J. (Sue) Gerecke of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Robert (Nancy) Gerecke of Blue Springs, Missouri, Doug (Loretta) Gerecke of Dexter, Missouri, and Mike (Debbie) Gerecke of Columbia, Missouri; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A celebration of her life will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
