SIKESTON -- Beulah Mae Chappell, 91, of Sikeston died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born on July 5, 1908, in Waverly, Tenn., the daughter of David Lonzo and Lena Mae Sutton Forrest. She married William "Odie" Chappell on April 26, 1926. He preceded her in death on Jan. 7. 1963.
She was a housewife and member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. She had been a baby sitter for many years for several families in Sikeston. She had worked at Brown Shoe Company in Charleston and at the International Shoe company in Sikeston.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Chappell of Diehlstadt and Jim Chappell of Sikeston; two daughters, Estelle Bauer of Ste. Genevieve and Dorothy Ross of DeSoto; a sister, Ethel Jenkins of Greenfield, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, eight brothers, five sisters and a grandson.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at the chapel Monday. The Rev. Rick Lasley will officiate, with burial at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston.
