GLENALLEN, Mo. -- Beulah E. Francis, 97, of Glen-allen died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Eldercare of Marble Hill, Mo. She was born Sept. 12, 1911, at Glenallen, daughter of George Avery and Rose Adeline Cooper Smith. She and Henry Coy Francis were married Dec. 28, 1929. He died March 3, 1991...

GLENALLEN, Mo. -- Beulah E. Francis, 97, of Glen-allen died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Eldercare of Marble Hill, Mo.

She was born Sept. 12, 1911, at Glenallen, daughter of George Avery and Rose Adeline Cooper Smith. She and Henry Coy Francis were married Dec. 28, 1929. He died March 3, 1991.

Beulah was a homemaker and caregiver, an avid gardener and loved to work in her yard and flowers, and was a member of Scopus Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Gale (Marlene) Francis of Glenallen, Kelly (Wanda) Francis of Marble Hill, Kenny (Harlena) Francis of Advance, Mo.; two daughters, Betty (James) Boyer of Glenallen, Becky (James) Douglas of Pevely, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son-in-law, Gene Van Matre; a brother, Lynwood Smith; a sister, Marie Farmer; and many, many friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Kelly, Kenny, and Rick Francis officiating. Burial will be in Grassy Cemetery at Grassy, Mo.
