Betty S. Jenkins, 73, 646 Whitelaw, died Monday, Jan. 23, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Jan. 28, 1921, in Kansas City, daughter of Elbert and Alice Irey Stark. She and George Jenkins Jr. were married Nov. 22, 1940, in Cape Girardeau.
Jenkins was deputy assessor of Cape Girardeau County 17 years. She also founded and was an instructor 10 years of the Noon Swimnastics Class.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, its Rediger Circle and United Methodist Women; Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary, and was a past member of Kimbeland Golf Association.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jerry Jenkins of Indianapolis, Ind., Edward Jenkins of New York City, and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Neil Stein officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
