Betty Rich

ANNA, Ill. -- Betty Rich, 92, of Austin, Texas, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, in Austin.

She was born Jan. 10, 1916, in Union County, Ill., daughter of Leon Gambetta and Ethel Davis Richardson. She and James Woodrow Rich were married Sept. 20, 1936.

Rich was a 1933 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School.

She lived most of her life in Anna, moving to Austin in the late 1990s to be close to her family.

Survivors include a sister, Mary R. Patton of Pharr, Texas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and three sisters.

Rich was a lifelong member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna and a choir member many years. She was a retired state of Illinois employee.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 4 at Anna City Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Hertenstein officiating.

Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.
