MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Betty Joan Mehas, 78, of Marble Hill passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born Oct. 28, 1938, in Essex, Missouri, daughter of Abraham and Willie Elizabeth Henson Brotherton. She and Milton Mehas were united in marriage June 24, 1995.
Betty worked for Brown Shoe factory, Paramount Hat factory and Henschel. She was a member of Silva General Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Milton Mehas of Marble Hill; daughters, Elizabeth Bell of Maquoketa, Iowa, and Rhonda Brown of Marble Hill; stepson, Greg Buttry of Jackson; stepdaughters, Charlotte Honeycutt of Oak Island, North Carolina, and Karen Rodgers of Advance, Missouri; brother, Ray Brotherton of Marble Hill; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Bob and Glen Brotherton; and sisters, Norma Moore, Gladys Rowland, Letha Clark and Grace Swift.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral service will be at noon today at the funeral home, with the Revs. Otis Long and Bob Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
