Betty McAuley, 76, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1993, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Aug. 6, 1917, at Rotts, Ill., daughter of Edgar and Louisa Moskop Conner. She and W.F. McAuley were married Oct. 14, 1944, in Red Bud, Ill. He died April 28, 1974.
McAuley graduated from Southeast Missouri State University. She taught second grade at Franklin School for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She then was a volunteer many years with the Reading Literacy Program. She had been active in the community, and was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Ed McAuley of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Jane McAuley of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Pat Conner of Jackson, Richard Conner of Farmington, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and sister.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent's Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel after 4 p.m. today. The KC rosary will be at 7, and parish prayers at 7:30.
