Betty Jean Leist, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Heartland Care and Rehab. She was born March 1, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Jessie and Deale McClard Wills. She married Benny Leist, who died in 1992. She had been a nurse aide at Green Meadows Nursing Home in Dexter, Mo., and at Wilson's Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau. Betty Jean Leist, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Heartland Care and Rehab.

She was born March 1, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Jessie and Deale McClard Wills. She married Benny Leist, who died in 1992. She had been a nurse aide at Green Meadows Nursing Home in Dexter, Mo., and at Wilson's Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Jackson.

Survivors include a son, Donald Leist of Sikeston, Mo.; two brothers, Johnny Wills of Cape Girardeau, Donald Wills of Chula Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Janet Enke of Cape Girardeau, Charlotte Wills of St. Louis; and a grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, three brothers and two sisters.

There is no visitation.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lorimier Cemetery.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
