Betty Kluesner
Elizabeth L. "Betty" Kluesner, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at her home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1935, in Benton, Mo., daughter of Andrew J. and Mary LeDure Welter. She and Joe Kluesner were married April 16, 1955, in Kelso, Mo.
Kluesner volunteered at Saint Francis Medical Center many years and also worked at Kmart. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and its Women's Council, VFW Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Kluesner of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Marilyn (Mark) Proffer and Geri (Brent) Beussink, all of Cape Girardeau; four sons, Roger (Mary Jo) Kluesner of Ames, Iowa, James (Joanie) Kluesner of Cape Girardeau, Dennis (Cecilia) Kluesner of Lawrenceville, Ga., Curtis Kluesner of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Leon and Sylvester Welter of Kelso; three sisters, Zeta Welter and Celeste Steimle of Kelso, Revella Schlosser of Scott City; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Kluesner, who passed away July 17, 2007; and a brother.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7, followed by Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary Council 6405 rosary.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof and the Rev. Bill Brunner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
