SIKESTON -- Barbara Alice "Betty" Comstock Kennedy, 69, formerly of Sikeston, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at the home of a daughter in Desloge.
She was born March 29, 1930, at Birds Corner, daughter of Walter and Ruby McDowell. She first married Leo Comstock June 2, 1946, at Birds Corner. He preceded her in death. She later married James Ernest Kennedy July 27, 1979, at Catron.
Kennedy was an inspector at Potlatch 19 years. She was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Melinda Kennedy of Desloge; three sons, Terry and Lee Comstock of Sikeston, Jimmy Comstock of Dexter; two stepsons, James Kennedy of Desloge, Bob Kennedy of Lilbourn; two stepdaughters, Camilla Bylery of New Madrid, and Connie Bylery of Kentucky.
Also surviving are four brothers, Coy, Frank and Bill McDowell of Sikeston, Gene McDowell of Wappapello; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandsons.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a half brother.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pat Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
