JACKSON, Mo. -- Betty Jean Johnson, 76, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Friends may call Friday, Nov. 24, from 4-8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. JACKSON, Mo. -- Betty Jean Johnson, 76, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call Friday, Nov. 24, from 4-8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Henrichs will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston, Mo.

Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 6, 1924, at Matthews, Mo., daughter of the late Alfred D. and Regina Ball Hill. She and Bernard Johnson were married Oct. 4, 1944, in Blytheville, Ark. He died June 6, 1993.

Loving survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and James Henry Workman of Pensacola, Fla., Bernita and Michael Leadbetter of St. Charles, Mo., Jane and Robert Landgraf Jr. of Jackson; two sisters, Joyce Peters of Indianapolis, Ind., Floretta Brewer of Crescent City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Eric Bond, Jason Leadbetter, David Leadbetter, Robert Landgraf III, Nicole Landgraf, Elijah Landgraf and Amanda Landgraf.

She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, a brother, and a sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson moved from Sikeston to Jackson in 1969. They were co-owners of Johnson A&W Root Beer Restaurant from 1969-86.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Pallbearers will be the five grandsons and a nephew, Greg Vidito. Honorary pallbearers will be the two granddaughters.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Restless Legs Syndrome Inc., or charity of donor's choice.
