CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Betty Jean Pruitt , 67 years old, 1105 Linden, died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born March 29, 1924, at Sardis, Okla., daughter of George and Mary Bell Chancelor.
She married Harold Pruitt in April 1946 at Osceoloa, Ark.
She moved here in 1945 from Sardis. She was a waitress and managed a number of food-service establishments in Cape Girardeau.
She was a member of the Church of God of Jackson.
Survivors are sons, Kenneth Pruitt, Arnold, Harold Pruitt Jr. and Michael D. Pruitt, both of Cape Girardeau, and George Pruitt, Oak Ridge; daughters, Mary Millering, Jefferson City, and Lisa Johnson and Pam Slattery, both of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Kenneth Chancelor, Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister, LaVerne Brazil, Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private service will be held Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel with the Rev. Alvie Surface officiating. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum Columbarium.
