Betty Hedger

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Betty Hedger, 83, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, formerly of Mounds, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, in Bowling Green.

She was the daughter of Jessie and Alma Milam Hand. She married Robert Earl Hedger, who preceded her in death.

Betty received a bachelor of science degree from College of St. Francis-Chicago. Prior to retirement she was a registered nurse with the Meridian School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mounds and a volunteer at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green.

Survivors include two sons, William Robert (Jan) Hedger and Richard Evan (Sandra) Hedger; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Crain Funeral Home in Cairo, Illinois.

The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Buddy Walls officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery in Mound City, Illinois.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of flowers or contributions to First Baptist Church in Mounds, or Mound City National Cemetery Committee.
