Betty L. Griffith, 88, of Cape Girardeau died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at her home.
She was born March 2, 1928, in Russelville, Arkansas, to Marcellus and Regina Renner Hoffman. She and Paul Albert Griffith were married March 23, 1947. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1995.
She worked with Paul many years in the medical-supply business, finally retiring to tend to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by four children, Michael (Yvonne) Griffith of Sedgewickville, Missouri, Robert (Mary) Griffith and Steven (Charlotte) Griffith, both of Cape Girardeau, and Becky (David) Snell of Egypt Mills; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two beloved sisters, Ruby (James) Price and Mary Jane (Bob) Burke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Joseph; a grandson, Matthew Joseph; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services were Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Interment took place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
