SIKESTON -- Betty Childers Edsall, 68, of Sikeston died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born Nov. 24, 1929, at Paducah, Ky., the daughter of Ed and Joy Collins Childers. She married James Theron Edsall Sr. on Aug. 2, 1968...

SIKESTON -- Betty Childers Edsall, 68, of Sikeston died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Nov. 24, 1929, at Paducah, Ky., the daughter of Ed and Joy Collins Childers. She married James Theron Edsall Sr. on Aug. 2, 1968.

She lived in Sikeston for the past 30 years. Previously, she lived in Mississippi County.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Morehouse.

Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Debra Edwards and Bobbi King, both of Sikeston, Karen Hanor Dunn of the Marshall Islands, Holly Cagle of Jasper, Ga., and Marla Rapert of Charleston; three stepsons, Jimmy Dean of St. Louis, Butch Edsall of Poladka, Fla., and Jim Edsall Jr. of East Prairie; a stepdaughter, Betty Ann Tinker of Sikeston; six brothers, Billy, Wayne, Paul and Timmy Childers, all of Sikeston, Jerry Childers of Chaffee and Michael Childers of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Mary Hamilton of Sikeston and Sue Husk of Cape Girardeau; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Jean Davis.

Friends may call at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. The Rev. J. D. McLard will officiate with burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Mississippi County.
