BETTY E. SPEARS

ANNA, Ill. -- Betty E. Spears, 68, of Anna died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Union County Hospital.

She was born Jan. 15, 1932, at Anna, daughter of Cecil and Edith Adams Boyd. She and Chester L. Spears were married May 29, 1954, at Chicago. He died May 12, 1998.

Spears was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden, Ill., and the Anna VFW Auxiliary, of which she was past district president.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Shannon of Cobden and Debra Ann Holden of Anna; a son, Martin Spears of Anna; a brother, Frank R. Boyd of St. Louis; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a brother and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pat Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery.
