BENTON, Mo. -- Betty Joan "Joanie" Curd, 52, of Scott City died Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Benton.
She was born March 22, 1957, in Cape Girar­deau, daughter of Bobbie G. and Betty Joan Elders Wilfawn. She and Ricky L. Curd were married July 25, 1981, in Scott City.
Joanie worked as a silk screener for Blair Industries and then as an in-home caregiver. She attended the New Life Gospel Center in Scott City.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Donnie Wilfawn of Marble Hill, Mo., and Jeremy Curd of Scott City; a brother, Bobby Wilfawn of Athens, Ga.; six sisters, Debbie Bollinger, Margie LeDure, Linda Smith and Maxine Mahler, all of Scott City, Becky Moore of Jackson and Mary Hopper of Benton; and two grandsons, Tristan Jordan and Taylor Jeen Ridings.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Friends may call from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the New Life Gospel Center in Scott City when there will be a memorial service, with the Rev. Jack Owens officiating.
