Betty Jean Cox, 73, of Springfield, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
She was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Jackson, daughter of Lawrence Ray and Vida Mae Smith Williams. She and Donald Ray Cox were married Dec. 8, 1951.
Cox worked eight years at International Shoe Co. in Jackson and Cape Girardeau. She moved to Springfield two years ago from Jackson.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Bonnie Bollinger of Muldrow, Okla., Donna Underwood of Springfield; a brother, Glenn Williams of Jackson; two sisters, Evelyn Langhofer of Geneseo, Kan., Kay Hoffmeister of Jackson; three grandchildren, Rachel Yount of Springfield, Bronson Cox of Scottsdale, Ariz., Carson Underwood of Springfield; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Mikhail Yount of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Maple; three sisters, Mary, Hazel and Mae; and a great-grandchild, Dominic Yount.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Langhofer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
