ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Betty J. Cato, 76, of Altenburg died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 12, 1926, in Paragould, Ark., daughter of Arthur and Jessie Mae Underwood Simpson. She and Orville Cato were married Dec. 27, 1941, at Bloomfield, Mo.
Formerly of Dexter, Mo., Cato moved to Marble Hill, Mo., in 1976, and to Altenburg in 2001. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Marble Hill.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Roger Cato of Paducah, Ky.; a daughter, Sandra Cooper of Columbus, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randel Poole officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
