JACKSON, Mo. -- Betty L. Brugger, age 71, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Friends may call between 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:15 a.m., followed by interment in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Monsignor Edward Eftink will officiate.
Mrs. Brugger was born Jan. 23, 1930, daughter of the late Richard H. and Dora M. Hager Spalding. She and Albert L. Brugger were married Aug. 28, 1947.
Loving survivors include her husband, Albert, of Jackson; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Tina Brugger of Jackson; two grandsons, Tyler and Cody Brugger of Jackson; a brother, Alyn Spalding of Scott City, Mo.; and a sister, Marilyn Retherford of Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Brugger; two brothers, Melvin E. Spalding and Richard K. Spalding; and a sister, Virginia "Ginny" R. Spalding.
Mrs. Brugger was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. She had worked at the former Deal Nursing Home in Jackson and retired from the former Jackson Hosiery Mill as an Inspector.
