Betty Birk Roth, 92, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2021.
Betty was born Aug. 22, 1929, to August Edward and Edna Froemsdorf Birk. She and Robert W. Roth were married April 21, 1957. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 2001.
She was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated valedictorian from Trinity Lutheran Grade School. She attended Chillicothe Business College, then served as secretary/treasurer for A.E. Birk & Son Plumbing and Heating. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a tournament bowler for 55 years and an accomplished golfer to the age of 85. She will be remembered for her ferocious competitive spirit in all game playing.
She is survived by son, Tim (Betty Seesing) Roth of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Terri (Mark) Roberts of Chesterfield, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Karen Roth Murphy, widow of Todd; grandchildren, Jason, Matt (Chelsea), Greg (Shelby) and Caroline Roberts, and Megan and Taylor Roth; and great-grandchildren, Parker, August Roberts, Asher Roth, and a great-granddaughter due in April.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Bob; daughter, Victoria Lynn; son, Todd William; and brother, August William Birk.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of service Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating.
Memorials are suggested to these organizations that touched her life: Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis, Shriners Hospital for Children-St. Louis and American Cancer Society.
