CAIRO, Ill. -- Betty Abbott, 79, of Upland, Calif. and formerly of Cairo died Monday, Nov. 23, 1992, at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Ill. She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of George C. and Nell Browner Roberson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Abbott, and was of the Catholic denomination...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Betty Abbott, 79, of Upland, Calif. and formerly of Cairo died Monday, Nov. 23, 1992, at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Ill.

She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of George C. and Nell Browner Roberson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Abbott, and was of the Catholic denomination.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane McGoldrick of Austin, Texas and Sharon Sener of Evanston; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Mounds. The Rev. Father Jerome Fortenberry will officiate. The Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
