Bettie M. Johnson, 86, of Jackson, formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 1, 1925, in Cairo, daughter of Robert and Kathryn Stewart Curtsinger. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest E. Johnson, in 1979, and a sister, Lillian Howell.
Johnson was a member of Mighty Rivers Regional Worship Center in Cairo. Prior to retiring she was employed at Emerson Elementary School in Cairo.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Bartlett of Jackson; three sons, Gary E. Johnson of Edwardsville, Ill., Rob Johnson of Bloomington, Ind., Kent Johnson of Jackson; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.
Visitation will be from noon to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.
Graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Aug. 12 at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill., with Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating.
