SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for Bettie Mae Helton of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dennis Gregory will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel from 11 a.m. until service time.

Helton, 96, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 10,1903, in Clarksville, Ark., daughter of R.C. and Lillie Pryor Odgen. She married Frank James Helton, who died Jan. 8, 1979.

Helton was a member of Clayton Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two nieces, Pat Gregory of Sikeston and Earlene Kelso of North Lake, Ill.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
