On Thursday, July 21, 2022, Bette Nitsch Hyten, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Jackson.
She was born in Glasco, Kansas.
She graduated from Jackson High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University, earning a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master of business administration. She retired as the chief financial officer of the Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging after 36 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Winifred Nitsch.
Bette is survived by her husband, Doyle Gene Hyten; daughters, Denise (Frank) Steinert and Danna (Joseph) Riley; sisters, Jolene (Robert) Daugherty, Linda Gotham and Delores (Stanley) Rothermich; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Jim Matthews officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or Saint Francis Hospice Care of Cape Girardeau.
Final arrangements are being handled by McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
