JACKSON -- Amelia G. "Bet" Ford, 89, of Jackson died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 26, 1910, in Oak Ridge, daughter of Ferdinand and Nice Ann Lape Mantz. She and Lawrence Ford were married Jan. 31, 1931. He died Dec. 25, 1972.
The Fords farmed in the Jackson and Wolf Lake, Ill., areas. They moved to Oak Ridge in 1943, where they owned and operated Ford Feed Store until retiring in 1963. She had also been a child care provider.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and its Ladies Missionary Union and Fidelity Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a son, Larry Ford of Oak Ridge; a daughter, Agatha Hawn of Marble Hill; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 10 great-stepgrandchildren; and several great-great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two stepsons, six brothers, four sisters, and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. Brian Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
