Bessie Owen, 94, of Scott City died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 28, 1915, in Drum, Mo., to William Henry and Mary Florence Moore Baker. She married Capt. Louis H. Owen Nov. 24, 1934, at Benton, Mo. He died Sept. 25, 1978...

Bessie Owen, 94, of Scott City died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 28, 1915, in Drum, Mo., to William Henry and Mary Florence Moore Baker. She married Capt. Louis H. Owen Nov. 24, 1934, at Benton, Mo. He died Sept. 25, 1978.

Owen was a member of Illmo Baptist Church in Scott City.

Survivors include a son, Jerry (Barbara) Owen of De Soto, Mo.; two grandchildren, Melanie (Chris) Osborn and Christopher (Paula) Owen; five great-grandchildren, Erin (Steve) Schmidt, Conrad and Emelia Osborn, Elani and Alison Owen; special niece and nephew, Sue Sands and Truman Lee (Cynthia) Baker.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at noon Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Herring officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
