BESSIE ORRELL

JACKSON -- Funeral service for Bessie Orrell of Jackson will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Raymond Epps will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Orrell, 73, died Monday, Jan. 31, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital, following an extended illness.

She was born Oct. 3, 1920, in Pemiscot County, daughter of Leonard and Rhoda Seabaugh Jacobs. She and Roscoe Orrell were married Aug. 14, 1938, at Jackson. He died Dec. 29, 1989.

Orrell worked at Florsheim Shoe Co., retiring in 1977. She was a member of Rolling Fields Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Leonard Orrell of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Carolynn Thompson of Houston, Connie Bell of Jackson; a brother, Lester Jacobs of Jackson; two sisters, Clara Crump of Lake Villa, Ill., Beulah Fox of Marble Hill; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
