Bessie LaPlante, 94, of Fredericktown, Mo., died Friday, June 3, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 4, 1911, in Fredericktown, daughter of James and Susie Amelia O'Bannon McGraw. She and Thomas Perry LaPlante were married Dec. 19, 1936, in Fredericktown.
A member of Fredericktown United Methodist Church, she loved her church and quilting. She was also active in a hospital auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Richard Thomas LaPlante of Creve Coeur, Mo.; two daughters, Sandra Sue LaPlante Moore of Cape Girardeau, Donna Jeanne LaPlante Storie of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin, Joseph and Robert McGraw; two sisters, Genevieve Westphal and Geraldine Butler; and a grandson, Mark Moore.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at Follis and Sons Funeral Hopme in Fredericktown.
Chapel service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Duane Larson officiating. Interment will be in Christian Cemetery at Fredericktown.
Memorials may be made to the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.
