BESSIE HAND

Bessie Alberta Hand, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 2, 1923, in Bollinger County, daughter of Charles and Carrie Gloth Hahn. She and Jesse Walton Hand were married March 29, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. He died April 15, 1998.

Hand was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Walton of Tobyhanna, Pa., Joyce Keller of Glen Carbon, Ill.; a brother, Lester Hahn of Highland, Calif.; two sisters, Gladys Frazier and Norma Jean Tackett of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, a brother, a sister, and a granddaughter.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Alford officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson, Mo.
