Bessie M. Crites, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at her home.
She was born May 1, 1926, to Joe and Edith Lutz Parson. She and James Crites were married June 14, 1952, at Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death Sept. 7, 2003.
Bessie was a certified nurse assistant at Southeast Hospital for 27 years, where she was the recipient of the Niswonger Spirit of Southeast Employee Award. Bessie loved to take care of her cats.
She was a member of Calvary Temple in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Lee (Joe) Weiss of High Ridge, Missouri, and Janet (John) Huber of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren, Jim (Linda) Weiss, David (Stephanie) Weiss, Michael (Misa) Weiss, Brian (Laura) Keller and Travis (Keri) Keller; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Roy Parson.
A private entombment will be at a later date at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of choice.
