Bessie L. Crawford, 98, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center. She was born July 28, 1914, in Mooreland, Okla., to John Albert and Louise Maude Richard Dale. She married Columbus Rone in 1931. He passed away in 1958. They had a son, Joe Francis Rone, born in 1931 and passed away in 1987. She later married B.D. Crawford, and he preceded her in death in 1993...

Bessie L. Crawford, 98, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born July 28, 1914, in Mooreland, Okla., to John Albert and Louise Maude Richard Dale. She married Columbus Rone in 1931. He passed away in 1958. They had a son, Joe Francis Rone, born in 1931 and passed away in 1987. She later married B.D. Crawford, and he preceded her in death in 1993.

Bessie retired in 1983 after 25 years with Mercantile Bank. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau since 1961.

She is survived by a grandson, Joe Allen (Diane) Rone of Fontana, Calif.; two granddaughters, Debra (Joseph) Rowan and Ann (Bernd) Ramspeck of Glenns Ferry, Idaho; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Larae Rone of Glenns Ferry; numerous nieces and nephews, including Wanda Ann Gaulding of Jackson; and friends and caregivers, Carol and Gary Schmidt of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from noon to service time today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Shupert officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Green Acres Memorial Park in Bloomington, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church, 1289 Lexington Ave., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
