BERTIE OLIVER

ESSEX, Mo. -- Funeral for Bertie Mae Oliver, formerly of Essex, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Mo. Dr. Jim Guffie will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery at Dexter, Mo.

Oliver, 73, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born May 31, 1927, at Fagus, Mo., daughter of Elmer and Atlas McNeal James. She and Emery Oliver were married Nov. 6, 1943. He died May 22, 1995.

Oliver was a member of Olive Branch General Baptist Church at Essex.

Survivors include two sons, Cecil Oliver of Collinsville, Ill., Steven Oliver of Edmond, Okla.; two daughters, Patricia Frank of Dexter, Belinda Brawner of Edmond; five brothers, Syl James of Granite City, Ill., Bill James of Bloomfield, Mo., Norman James of Russell, Ark., Johnny James of Saucier, Miss., Don James of Clarkson, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
