Bertha Irene Gloth, 86, of Jackson passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 11, 1934, in Whitewater, the daughter of William Louis and Edith Irene Snider Gloth. Bertha was the head cook at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson for 42 years. Bertha Irene Gloth, 86, of Jackson passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 11, 1934, in Whitewater, the daughter of William Louis and Edith Irene Snider Gloth.

Bertha was the head cook at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson for 42 years. She was an active member of the Delta First Baptist Church and part of the church quilting group.

She had numerous hobbies including cooking, traveling, bowling, hand embroidery, crafting, quilting and decorating for every holiday. She was gifted at turning plastic canvases into angels, Christmas villages, holiday decor and holders for children's crayons.

Survivors include a brother, Harold Gloth of Whitewater; sister, Dorothy Stevens of Whitewater; nieces, Lorene Bachfish of Benton, Missouri; Linda Putz of Millersville; Melissa Schulte of Troy, Missouri; and Patricia Ackman of Whitewater; and nephew, Russ Gloth of Troy.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, George, Emory, Paul Eugene, Clarence, Cletus, Cornelius and Arthur Gloth; and three sisters, Velma Friedrich and Alma and Zelma Gloth.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the chapel with the Rev. Randy Conn officiating. Burial will follow at Passover Cemetery near Whitewater.
