Bernice M. Quade, 87, of Gordonville passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born April 23, 1925, in Gordonville, to Joe and Mable Newburn Ulrich. She and Norman E. Quade were married Nov. 3, 1946, at Zion Methodist Church in Gordonville.
Bernice worked at Southeast Hospital and the former International Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau. She then attended Cape Beauty School, and subsequently owned and operated Cinderella Beauty Shop in Cape Girardeau. In 1982, she sold the shop and joined Robinson Bus Tours of Marquand, Mo., where she worked five years as a tour guide, retiring in 1988.
Bernice and Norman were avid walkers at West Park Mall in Cape Girardeau.
Loving survivors include her husband of 65 years, Norman of Gordonville; a brother, Melvin Ulrich of Scott City; two sisters, Elsie Eggimann of Gordonville and Marjorie Medlin of St. Charles, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
