PUXICO -- Bernice Pauline Harty, 78, of Puxico died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.She was born March 20, 1921, at Puxico, daughter of Jack and Doris Nancy Jane Shelby Smith. She and Fred Alexander Harty were married Oct. 14, 1939, at Poplar Bluff. He died April 11, 1999.Harty lived in Puxico all her life and farmed with her husband. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Morris of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Woodrow Smith of Puxico, Vaughn Smith of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Norma Martin of St. Louis; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. today.Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Rowland Duckett will officiate. Burial will be in Puxico Cemetery.
