SIKESTON -- Bernice Ellanora Cummins, 81, of Sikeston died Friday, Dec. 8, 1995, at the Miner Nursing Center.

She was born Nov. 24, 1914, in Advance, the daughter of William Henry and Clara Edith Goodman Simmons. In 1933, she married Wayne Cummins in Morley. He preceded her in death in 1958.

Cummins was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston and worked in advertising sales at the Sikeston Daily Standard newspaper for 35 years. She also had been active in the Rebecca Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star in Sikeston.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Long of Sikeston and Elizabeth Bradley of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Janice Simmons of Sikeston; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today in the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with the Rev. Kelly Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
