CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Bernice Ancell, 86, of Chaffee died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at her home.
She was born March 22,1917, at Crump, Mo., daughter of Ernest Kirby and Ida Mae Williams Crump. She and Lee Ancell were married Sept. 15, 1934. He died on July 28, 1989.
She worked as a clerk for Doris Food Mart in Chaffee before retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 389 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 3127, all in Chaffee.
Survivors include two brothers, Harrel and Paul Crump, both of Chaffee; three sisters, Ethel Anderson and Dorothy Nobles, both of Scott City, and Coletta Hahn of Chaffee.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Cliff Day officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
