SIKESTON, Mo. -- Benjamin Thomas "Bennie" Walker Jr., 78, of Sikeston died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 31, 1922, at Blodgett, Mo., son of Benjamin Thomas and Esther Louise Kruger Walker Sr. He and Jolene Corlew were married Aug. 12, 1962, in Sikeston.
Walker was a salesman with Jarvis Motor Co. 35 years and had also worked at Sikeston Motor Co.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, member and 32nd degree Mason with Sikeston Lodge 310 AF&AM, member of Moolah Temple in St. Louis, SEMO Shrine Motor Patrol, Eagles Aerie, and Elks Lodge.
Walker served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert and William Walker of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Elizabeth Swann of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Gina Walker of Sikeston; three sisters, Mary Alcorn of Morley, Mo., Margaret Breedlove and Betty Stancil of Louisville, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rick Lasley officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
