CHAFFEE -- Funeral Mass for Benjamin Louis Kirn of Chaffee will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. The Rev. Allan Saunders will officiate, with burial in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery at New Hamburg.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Kirn, 87, died Monday, Nov. 11, 1996, at Chaffee Nursing Center.'
He was born May 7, 1909, at Jackson, son of Joseph and Minnie Worth Kirn. He and Mary Phegley were married Sept. 9, 1933. She died Feb. 11, 1991.
Kirn was a shipping clerk 28 years at Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church and Chaffee Elks 1810.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Hawkins of Sebring, Fla.; two brothers, Louis Kirn of Chaffee, Henry Kirn of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Clara Schwepker of Dutchtown, Edna Burford of Benton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and four brothers.
