ADVANCE -- Ben VanGennip, 75, of Advance, died Sunday, June 11, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 30, 1919, at Dongola, son of John and Maude Sample VanGennip. He and Geneva Robison were married Oct. 23, 1949, in Piggott, Ark.
VanGennip was a retired aircraft mechanic. He was a member and former trustee of First General Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World war II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David VanGennip of Advance; three daughters, Nada Cope of Glen Carbon, Ill., Linda Starr of Florissant, Delbra VanGennip of Advance; three brothers, Paul VanGennip of Advance, Robert VanGennip of Dongola, Grant VanGennip of St. Louis; a sister, Rita Nall of Advance; eight grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Cecil Keller and Wayne Page officiating. Burial will be in Dongola Cemetery.
