COMMERCE -- Ben Andrew Knight, 81, of Commerce, died Friday, Jan. 14, 1994, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center. He was born Aug. 26, 1912, at Neelys Landing, son of Roy "Price" and Rozena Jane O'Guin Knight. He and Blanche English were married Jan. 27, 1953. She died March 29, 1983...

COMMERCE -- Ben Andrew Knight, 81, of Commerce, died Friday, Jan. 14, 1994, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

He was born Aug. 26, 1912, at Neelys Landing, son of Roy "Price" and Rozena Jane O'Guin Knight. He and Blanche English were married Jan. 27, 1953. She died March 29, 1983.

Knight was retired as a mate on the river with Cargill Carriers. He attended Commerce Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a brother, Roy Knight of Commerce; three sisters, Hazel Davis, Rosebud Ayers and Rosemary McGee, all of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Donny Ford will officiate, with burial in Oakdale Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
